Q.U.I.L.T. (Quilters United in Learning Together) Guild of Northwest Arkansas is a non-profit organization formed to promote the appreciation of the rich heritage of the art of quilting and to enhance each member’s own quilting skills and knowledge. It is also the purpose of this organization to expand and to enrich the art of quilting for future generations.
Q.U.I.L.T. of NWA recently celebrated 20 years of quilting and learning about quilting. We invite all quilters and quilt lovers to participate in our monthly meetings with featured programs, as well as our biennial quilt show and other special events, including an annual quilters retreat.
Q.U.I.L.T. of NWA will be presenting our 10th biennial show April 9th and 10th 2005. ‘Tomorrow’s Heirloom X Quilt Show’ will include over 300 quilts, Donation Quilt Merchants Mall, Demonstrations, Specialty Exhibits, Small Quilt Auction, Quilt Turning and Quilt Appraisals. In conjunction with our show, several local museums are presenting the ‘Northwest Arkansas Quilt Tour’ and are showcasing quilt exhibits. Please check out the Quilt Show Page of our Website for location, times and additional information or contact Joan Beyette at [email protected]
‘Carrie Hall Revisited’ is the name of our donation quilt. Each Q.U.I.L.T. Guild member had the opportunity to make blocks and participate in hand quilting this Carrie Hall inspired treasure. This quilt has an appraised value of $8.000.00 and is the major fund raising effort for our guild. The proceeds from the quilt will help fund scholarships, museum donations, comfort quilts for children in crisis and many other philanthropic ventures as well as the continuing education of our Q.U.I.L.T. Guild members. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and will be available at the show and through Q.U.I.L.T. Guild members or contact Shirley Denton at [email protected]
